SCHOOL: GENERAL INFORMATION AND ACADEMIC ADMINISTRATION
The SD Katolik Pelangi or Pelangi Catholic School, is an elementary private school. It is located in Jl. Saranani No. 2, Kendari City. The location of the school has a Catholic church beside it, which is accessible for the Catholic teachers and students to go and pray in the church. This school was built in 1983. The school-level accreditation of SD Katolik Pelangi is level A.
The school’s vision is to become an outstanding school, mastering science and technology, environmentally friendly, and based on a Catholic mission. Whereas its mission is to:

Develop active, creative, educational, interesting and satisfying learning for the school community and have an environmental perspective.

Organize student self-development based on improving English language skills and mastery of internet technology.

Arrange the school environment in a way that can be beneficial.

Developing religious activities that can strengthen the Catholic mission.

Aside from having a vision and mission, the SD Katolik Pelangi also has goals to achieve academic and non-academic achievements at least at the Kendari city level, mastering the basics of science and technology as preparation for continuing to a higher level, becoming a school that is in demand in the community, and being able to manage and preserve the environment.
The SD Katolik Pelangi is going under renovation, in which they improved one of their buildings for kindergarten students and intermediate grade levels, which are grades 4, 5, and 6. Although the school is going through renovation, they still provide sufficient facilities to support the students' learning journey. The classrooms are equipped with whiteboards, tables and chairs, big electric fans for enough ventilation, and also a projector to help teachers with their discussions.
Furthermore, when it comes to their system of teaching and learning, the teachers and students schedule in the school from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The reason behind this schedule is to allow students to spend their spare time developing their other skills, like taking classes in sports, music, the arts, and language. This allows the students to expand their capabilities not just in the academic aspect but also in other aspects of learning.
The SD Katolik Pelangi is not just a school that is exclusive for catholic students, but rather this school also welcomes students that have other religions such as catholic, protestants, buddhist, muslim, hindu, and konghucu. This is school is supports inclusive education that caters the learning of students despite the background, nationality, social status, and culture that students come from.
